We are happy to announce that the blog of “The Right to (Not) Use the Internet: Observatory” is now officially live!

Over the past few months, our team has held several fruitful online meetings, laying the foundation for strong cooperation and meaningful academic dialogue. These virtual encounters have already led to a number of inspiring discussions on digital society, online disinformation, and the right to disconnect.

One of the first outcomes of our collaboration is a joint publication that brings together scholars from multiple institutions and countries: The Right Not to Use the Internet: Concept, Contexts, Consequences, edited by Dariusz Kloza, Elżbieta Kużelewska, Eva Lievens, and Valerie Verdoodt. more informations

This interdisciplinary volume explores the normative, legal, social, and technological dimensions of the right not to use the Internet. It raises critical questions about digital inclusion and exclusion, personal autonomy in a hyperconnected world, and the boundaries of digital freedom. The book is the result of close academic collaboration within the Internet Observatory network.

We are now preparing for our first in-person meeting, scheduled for autumn 2025. We look forward to continuing our work together, sharing new insights, and shaping future research directions.
